Wherever You Are, Enlightenment Is There

This is an edited version of a Shunryu Suzuki lecture published on Lion's Roar August 11th. It's from Not Always So, p.127. Here's the verbatim lecture 69-09-00-A on shunryusuzuki.com - also there are links there to a minimum edit, Wind Bell version, and the audio. Here's an excerpt from the verbatim:

So enlightenment will be attained in easy time and in adversity. Wherever you are, enlightenment is there. And if you stand upright where you are, that is enlightenment. Try to stand up-- up-- upright. There is our practice. It means that to accept things as it is, to accept yourself as you are.
