Referring to prior day's excerpt

In your sitting, if you have this kind of confidence you will understand many things which are quite different from the understanding you will have by some other way of study. You can do many things, but without realizing this point, it means nothing. That is why we practice zazen. What I mean is to change your direction of study. I do not say, “Don't do this,” or “Don't do that.” But we have to study Buddhism a different way from your ordinary way of studying, or else Buddhism will be just an interesting philosophy.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Excerpt from Shunryu Suzuki lecture 67-04-22-A found onshunryusuzuki.com. Edited by DC - Many Shunryu Suzuki lecture excerpts on cuke.com - from there links to much more. Going slowly through Suzuki transcripts featuring whatever is next that seems okay.
